UN Security Council Seat: Not Something Aussies Should Be Proud Of

Lawyer and Labor Party cheerleader, Chris Murphy, yesterday tweeted the following "After grovelling to the Queen and George Bush Australia finally stands on it's own feet."

If Chris took off his eye patch for one minute he would see that what this government has achieved in getting a UN Security Council seat is... GROVELLING.

Leftists like Murphy accused Howard of being a sycophant towards Bush. But Howard was simply respecting and upholding an alliance that has enriched Australian and US relations for over 60 years. I'd rather our prime minister be a suck up to the US than court the favour of a corrupt and useless, "leftist" organisation.

So now we rub shoulders with such beacons of humanity and freedom as Rwanda and Argentina. The Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom lists Argentina at number 158 in the world. Australia is number 3.

Of Argentina, the Heritage Foundation writes that there is: "extensive government intrusion into free markets"
"the courts are slow, inefficient and vulnerable to corruption."

Such great company.
